Dr. Darcy Hallett

Biography

Darcy Hallett is a Professor in the field of Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. With a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of British Columbia, he specializes in mathematical cognition and its implications for educational practices. His primary research interests include understanding the developmental aspects of children's mathematical knowledge and strategies, particularly focusing on how conceptual and procedural knowledge of fractions can impact mathematical problem-solving abilities. Dr. Hallett has completed a two-year SSHRC Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Oxford, where he worked with esteemed scholars in the domain of mathematics education.
