Dr. David Rabiner

Biography

David Rabiner is a Research Professor Emeritus at Duke University's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. His research primarily focuses on violence prevention and the improvement of academic performance in children with attention difficulties, particularly those with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Rabiner has been involved in significant projects, including the GREAT Schools and Families project, a multi-site violence prevention study targeting middle school students, which is funded by the Centers for Disease Control. His work has explored the efficacy of computerized interventions for elementary school students facing attention challenges. Throughout his career, Rabiner has contributed to various notable publications that examine the interplay between attention problems and academic achievement, as well as the broader implications of classroom management strategies on early educational outcomes. He earned his Ph.D. from Duke University in 1987 and has received several research grants from prestigious institutions such as the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Education, focusing on interventions that enhance learning skills and classroom dynamics.
