Biography

Ella is currently a PhD student working under the supervision of Dr. Alix Woolard at the Telethon Kids Institute, Professor Karen Martin at the University of Tasmania, and Dr. Ian Li and Dr. Monique Plattell from the University of Western Australia. Her PhD research focuses on exploring the knowledge, perceptions, and experiences of pre-service and early career teachers surrounding trauma-informed practices within school environments. Ella is passionate about improving health outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations through trauma-informed practices. Additionally, she works as a research assistant in the School of Allied Health at UWA, assisting with the Thoughtful Schools Program. Ella completed her Bachelor of Biomedical Science with a major in Population Health Marketing at the University of Western Australia in 2020, followed by class honours in Population Health in 2021, where she received top marks.
