Emily earned a B.S. in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004. After briefly working as a forensic chemist, she discovered her passion for education and transitioned to teaching secondary sciences in rural Virginia. Her research interests include humanizing STEM education, experiential learning, service-learning research, and safety culture in academic laboratories, all of which relate to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Her work contributes significantly to education and the enhancement of learning experiences in academic settings.
