Dr. Francisco Román

Biography

Francisco J. Román specializes in managerial accounting. His research interests focus on understanding monetary incentives, groups' influences on labor productivity and job performance, and the implications of offshoring arrangements on firms' production costs and corporate governance in emerging capital markets. His research has been published in notable journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Financial Economics, and Journal of Management Accounting Research. Prior to his academic career, Professor Román worked at General Instruments and Becton Dickinson in manufacturing plants in Mexico and the U.S. Before joining USC, he held academic appointments at Rice University, Texas Tech, and George Mason University.
