Biography

Geetha joined the University of Glasgow in September 2015 as a Senior Lecturer and has served as the Deputy Head of the Adam Smith Business School, focusing on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion as well as acting as the Director of Learning and Teaching for Undergraduate Programmes. She studied at the University of Essex, earning an MSc in Financial and Business Economics followed by a PhD in Economics under the supervision of Professor V. Bhaskar. Additionally, she holds an MBA from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Her prior experience includes academic roles at the University of Essex, Royal Holloway, and the University of St Andrews, alongside practical experience in an accountancy firm and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Geetha's research interests span several key areas, including inner feedback and self-regulating learning, the development of graduate skills, development economics particularly focused on inequality and gender, and educational aid. She also actively contributes to the teaching of various economics modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and engages in further research projects aimed at improving educational outcomes and addressing gender-specific pedagogies.
