Professor Dr. Heather Laird Fick

Biography

Heather Laird-Fick, MD, MPH, FACP, is a general internist and clinical educator who joined the faculty at Michigan State University in 2001. She has served in a variety of administrative and teaching roles, including Advanced Medicine clerkship director and internal medicine residency associate program director. Currently, she is the program director and Director of Assessment for the college's Shared Discovery Curriculum. Dr. Laird-Fick's research interests focus on the assessment of medical learners and competency-based education training, particularly in relation to cancer and aging populations. Clinically, she specializes in health management for aging adults, addressing complex and interacting medical issues as well as mental health concerns. She works in both ambulatory and hospital settings.
