Biography

Heather Lewis is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. She holds a Master of Engineering in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Her teaching focuses on course management, lecture instruction, lab instruction, and overseeing teaching assistants and graders. She has developed and taught various courses, including those centered on 3D geometric modeling design and senior design projects. Lewis has received several accolades for her teaching performance, including the ASME MEEN Student Chapter Teacher Award in both 2019 and 2025, and was recognized as the Students’ Choice Professor of the Year by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for the 2018-2019 academic year. Additionally, she was honored with the College of Engineering Outreach and Extension Excellence Award from Oklahoma State University in 2014.
