Biography

Hoa T.H. Nguyen is an Assistant Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, specializing in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She has a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania, where her research focused on Language Acquisition. Her academic interests encompass various areas of language instruction, particularly Instructed Language Acquisition, Task-Based Language Teaching, and the integration of technology in language learning, including gamification and artificial intelligence applications in L2 instruction. Nguyen is actively engaged in critical applied linguistics and intercultural communication, exploring innovative teaching methodologies that enhance effective language learning.
