Professor Dr. Inger Marie Christensen

Biography

Inger-Marie Falgren Christensen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark. She specializes in learning, design technology, and educational technology within higher education. Her research focuses on the design and implementation of educational technologies that enhance learning experiences and digital competences among students. Dr. Christensen's work explores new forms of teaching and learning, including gamification, playful learning, and the importance of tangible learning resources. Her PhD thesis was centered on using computational tools in education, specifically regarding how these can be integrated into humanistic subjects. She employs design-based implementation research and co-design methods to investigate how digital competences can be cultivated within study programs. In addition to her research, Dr. Christensen is active in guest lectures, conference presentations, and has participated in various academic activities aimed at fostering digital competencies in education.
