Dr. Iram Siraj

Biography

Iram Siraj is a Professor of Child Development Education at Jesus College, University of Oxford. She has held significant academic positions at renowned institutions, including the University of Warwick, University College London, and the University of Wollongong. Siraj is recognized for her international reputation in longitudinal research and policy expertise in early education. She co-directed influential studies such as the Effective Provision of Pre-school, Primary and Secondary Education (EPPSE) project and the Researching Effective Pedagogy in the Early Years (REPEY) study. Her current research focuses on various initiatives in Australia and England, examining interventions to promote effective early learning environments. In addition to her research work, she has contributed to several educational reviews and has been involved with multiple advisory groups, including the Welsh Government and UNESCO. Siraj has published extensively, with over 250 publications and several award-winning books that explore themes of educational inequality and effective leadership in early childhood education. Her contributions have had a profound impact on educational policy and practice across various countries.
