Biography

Isabelle Duss is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Educational Science of the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on early mathematical competencies and spontaneous focusing on numbers in children, the transition from kindergarten to primary school, play behavior and playfulness in children with disabilities, and the relationship between the home environment and child development. Isabelle completed her doctorate in Educational Science at the University of Zurich, where her dissertation explored the role of low executive functions in parental play behavior and its impact on the developmental trajectories of children's playfulness. She holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood from the Thurgau University of Teacher Education and the University of Konstanz, and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Educational Pedagogy and Social Pedagogy from the University of Fribourg. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive practical experience working with children with disabilities and has contributed to several educational projects related to early childhood development.
