Biography

Israël Dupuis' work is based on the idea of social design 'with people'. He has been involved in collaborative outreach projects focusing on design and community engagement, such as Concordia's Dans La Rue since 2001. His lab classes allow participants from community organizations to learn how to use graphic multimedia design to develop employability skills and bolster self-confidence. Recent efforts are devoted to sustainable multimedia design approaches that benefit communities. His research involves community-based projects utilizing a Computer Art Therapy approach. He is currently working on a project at the Y des femmes in downtown Montreal, creating a sustainable development tool for digital literacy and art communications. His research focuses on developing e-portfolios as a pedagogical instrument to enhance employability and social skills for individuals living with personality disorders.
