Biography

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Jeffrey Steele developed an interest in language, particularly French, from a young age. He holds a BA in French from the University of Manitoba, an MA in French Linguistics from Queen’s University, and a PhD in Linguistics from McGill University. Steele is also a trained musician, having achieved ARCT Premier Prix from the Conservatoire de Paris. At the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), he teaches courses that intersect music and language.
