Dr. Jennifer Rose

Biography

Jennifer Rose is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, where she has been since 2015. With a background as a Chartered Accountant qualified through ICAEW, she worked in Audit at KPMG before transitioning into education. At the University of Manchester, Jennifer serves as the Academic Lead for Employability at the Alliance Manchester Business School and is an advocate for dialogic pedagogy, encouraging student engagement and self-feedback. Her educational approach emphasizes social responsibility and sustainability, addressing global issues in her lectures on accounting. Jennifer is also an accredited Perry Assessor for Intellectual and Ethical Development and has contributed significantly to accounting education by empowering students to generate their own feedback rather than relying solely on teacher comments. This innovative approach has gained recognition, leading to her receiving prestigious awards such as the National Teaching Fellowship and the Principal Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. Her work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to educate and prepare students for future challenges in various sectors.
