Dr. Jerine Pegg

Biography

Jerine Pegg is a Professor in Science Education and Co-director of the Centre for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education (CMASTE) at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on science education, teacher professional learning, and faculty mentoring. Dr. Pegg's current work explores aspects of interdisciplinarity and partnership development through the lenses of social network theory and boundary interactions, emphasizing communities of practice. She has contributed significantly to the field through her active engagement in senior-level university governance committees, and she has served as the Department Chair and Associate Chair of the Department of Elementary Education. Dr. Pegg has also received multiple awards for her innovative use of technology in teaching and learning. Her contributions extend to collaborative projects with international education ministries and non-profit organizations in countries like Oman and Rwanda. She taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, enhancing the learning experience with various delivery formats.
