Jessica Renee Kiser graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. During her senior year, she had the opportunity to tutor first-year dental hygiene students, which sparked her desire to become a dental hygiene educator. Continuing her education at UNC Chapel Hill, she earned a Master of Science degree in Dental Hygiene Education in 2006. In 2017, she received her Doctorate of Education in Adult and Community College Education from North Carolina State University. Currently, she teaches courses including dental radiography, oral pathology, nutrition, and dental hygiene theory, alongside her clinical responsibilities. Jessica is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and has held leadership roles at local, state, and national levels. She is also a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society and the American Dental Educators Association. Her research interests encompass adult learning, faculty development, and curriculum development, and her master's thesis focused on the prevalence of clinical practice among dental hygiene educators, while her doctoral dissertation explored the forces driving curriculum change in dental hygiene programs.
