Dr. Jing Qiu

Biography

Jing Qiu works at Washington University St. Louis as a math instructional specialist at the Institute School Partnership. She designs and facilitates professional learning addressing the implementation of high-quality mathematics instruction for K-12 teachers, building administrators, and district leaders. Qiu co-leads a research practice partnership involving math teachers studying problems of practice related to math identity and belonging, launching cognitively demanding tasks, and vocabulary acquisition for multilingual learners. Throughout her educational career, Qiu has focused on issues of equity in schools, advancing ambitious and equitable mathematics instruction as a teacher, leader, and coach, and directing adult learning in anti-racist teaching and identity formation interrogation while building cultural competence. She holds a B.A. and Ed.M. from Harvard University.
