Biography

Johanna Eriksson is a Collegiate Lecturer and Teaching Professor at the University of Michigan, specializing in Germanic Languages and Literatures. With a background in Scandinavian studies, she directs the Scandinavian Studies Program and plays a pivotal role in coordinating events such as the annual Signe Karlström Event, which features a wide array of concerts, staged readings, and public talks. Johanna actively promotes student engagement in study abroad programs, particularly at Uppsala University in Sweden, helping to arrange internships that provide students with hands-on experience while earning university credits. Additionally, she organizes spring break study trips to Sweden, where students can immerse themselves in the local culture by staying with host families. Her teaching includes courses on Second-Year Swedish and emphasizes the integration of various aspects of film, children's literature, comic arts, language pedagogy, and language acquisition.
