Biography

Johannes Steinrücke completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Twente in 2015 and graduated with a Research Master's in Methodology, Statistics, and Behavioural, Biomedical, and Social Sciences from Utrecht University in 2017. During his master’s thesis project, he visited a serious gaming company in Silicon Valley as an intern. In September 2017, he started his PhD project in the research group on Instructional Technology (IST), focusing on the assessment of instructional interventions in digital game-based learning environments. He successfully defended his dissertation in September 2021 and subsequently transitioned to a position as a lecturer in IST. In September 2022, he shifted his focus to the Cognition, Data, and Education (CoDE) research group as an Assistant Professor of Data Science, where he is also facilitating the faculty’s transition towards R in teaching. His expertise lies in Computer Science, Decision-Making, Information Literacy, Serious Games, Dashboards, Learning Experiences, and Assessment of Organizations.
