Since 2018, I have been teaching at the Department of History and became habilitated in 2022. I studied History and Physics at the universities of Cologne and Seville, obtained my PhD from ETH Zurich in 2010, and led the Center for the History of Knowledge (ETHZ & UZH) from 2010 to 2022. I hold a teaching diploma (Secondary II) in History and Physics from UZH. I was a member of the professional commission of the Pro Helvetia Foundation from 2021 to 2025. Since 2024, I have been a member of the education commission of the Zürcher Realgymnasium Rämibühl and, from 2025, the president of the Historical Education Commission of the Swiss Society for History SGG. My teaching and research focus includes the History of Modernity, with an emphasis on Migration History and Globalization, the History of Science and Technology, the History of Switzerland and Iran, Racism and Multiculturalism, and General themes such as Historical Education, Public History, and Historical Culture and Didactics.
