Laura Dahl is a visiting assistant professor in Higher Education at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Her research employs quantitative methods to critically examine how collegiate environments influence prosocial outcomes such as sense of belonging, self-authored worldviews, commitment, career outcome expectations, and appreciative attitudes towards diversity. She is currently leading the Assessment of Collegiate Residential Environments and Outcomes (ACREO) project, which is funded by the National Association of Campus Activities and focuses on examining new member hazing experiences in college student organizations. Dahl has also been involved as a research consultant on several projects, including the Interfaith, Spiritual, Religious, and Secular (INSPIRES) Campus Climate Index. Before joining NYU, she served as an assistant professor at North Dakota State University and worked as the research director at the College Impact Laboratory at Ohio State University. She earned her doctorate in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2019, following her prior education in Applied Mathematics at Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia.
