Dr. Liesbeth Noordegraaf Eelens

Biography

Liesbeth Noordegraaf-Eelens is a full professor at the Erasmus School of Philosophy and holds a professorship in Transdisciplinary Education Innovation at Codarts, University of the Arts Rotterdam. Her early career focused on educational innovations, where she developed tutor groups at the Erasmus School of Economics, earning the EUR Teacher of the Year Award in 1997. Over the years, she contributed to innovative programs such as the honors programs and the wide skills program at ESE. Noordegraaf-Eelens played a significant role in establishing the Rotterdam Arts & Sciences Lab, a collaboration between Erasmus University Rotterdam, Codarts University of the Arts, and the Willem de Kooning Academy. She was instrumental in the creation of the Double Degree program that received grants under the Comenius Leader Fellowship and Erasmus-plus Strategic Partnership. Currently, she serves as the director of education at the Erasmus School of Philosophy, emphasizing the social impact of education throughout her career. She has actively participated in public debates and contributed to various professional publications. With a PhD completed in 2010, she is frequently featured in national media discussing financial topics. She has received the ESE Impact Award for her public academic activities and is a co-chair of the Comenius network, connecting academic teaching with social agendas. Furthermore, she holds a position on the Council for Public Health Society (RVS) and is the chair of Fame, the Female Academics Movement at Erasmus University.
