Professor Dr. Lisa Grocott

Biography

Professor Lisa Grocott is a co-design researcher thriving in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on social impact and organisational change projects. She is the Co-Director of WonderLab at Monash University and an Honorary Professor at Play DSKD in Denmark. Lisa's relational approach to designing impact creates perspective-shifting, memory-making, play-based encounters that support the challenging work of altering social practices and unsettling everyday norms. With her expertise in co-design, neurodivergent lived experiences, and Indigenous knowledge, her research animates the rewriting of stories and telling of previously untold narratives. Born in Aotearoa New Zealand and of Ngāti Kahungunu descent, Lisa's creative methods have sharpened collaborations with psychology and education researchers, creative methodologists, and ethnographers across Australia, the United States, Denmark, and Great Britain. Lisa has received over $4 million in funding from the Australian Research Council, Wellcome Foundation, and other industry partners, highlighting the significant role of creative practice in fostering equitable futures.
