Biography

Lisa R. Lattuca is a Professor and the Director of the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan's Marsal Family School of Education. With a focus on curriculum, teaching, and learning in college and university settings, she employs systems perspectives to explore how disciplinary cultures and curricular, instructional, and organizational conditions shape faculty teaching and create equitable educational opportunities for students. Her research includes the impact of interdisciplinary teaching and the structure of academic programs on undergraduate learning and the development of systems thinking competencies in engineering students. Lattuca has led and collaborated on numerous NSF-funded projects, including studies that assess diversity in engineering education and create frameworks for equitable curricular practices. She has held faculty positions at Penn State and Loyola University Chicago and served on the editorial boards of several prestigious academic journals. Lattuca earned her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has extensive experience in higher education administration, including roles as assistant dean and director of marketing.
