Biography

Lone Dirckinck-Holmfeld is a professor in ICT and Learning at the Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University. She was previously the head of the Master's Program in ICT and Learning and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities from 2009 to 2015. Her research focuses on the transformation of education, particularly problem-based and project-based learning (PBL) and the use of digital technologies in education. She is interested in the intertwined processes of pedagogy, technology, and organization, exploring themes such as participatory approaches, real-world engagement, co-construction, and teachers as designers. Currently, she is the principal investigator of a collaborative interdisciplinary research project on green charcoal innovation for climate change mitigation in Northern Uganda, in partnership with Gulu University and local stakeholders. Additionally, her research contributions align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing inclusive innovation, sustainability, and change.
