Biography

Marcus Samuelsson is a Senior Associate Professor at Linköping University, focusing on the intersection of leadership and classroom management. His research involves the utilization of computer simulations to enhance teacher training, helping future educators develop skills to manage classrooms effectively. Samuelsson’s PhD thesis examined the ways in which pupils, particularly within the context of gendered behaviors, disrupt teaching, and how educators can adapt their strategies to mitigate these disturbances. His studies have highlighted the importance of multifaceted corrections and maintaining an engaging classroom climate for student development. Over the last five years, he has concentrated on the impact of computer simulations on teacher students’ perceptions of classroom leadership. His work emphasizes the need for flexibility and situational awareness in teaching. Samuelsson also teaches within the teacher programme, special education programme, and special needs training programme, offering lectures and seminars on leadership and didactics methods.
