Maria Tims is a Full Professor and research fellow at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she holds a chair in the Future of Work. She joined the School of Business and Economics in 2013 after serving as an assistant professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Tims obtained her PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology cum laude in 2013. Her research expertise focuses on employee proactivity in work design and workforce analytics. Currently, Tims is involved in research examining proactive behaviors within managed teams and how team members can craft their job roles. She has received an NWO grant for her research project on team functioning and the relationships between individual job crafting and organizational outcomes. Tims has published over 30 articles in top-ranked scientific journals and has actively contributed to various projects related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
