Professor Dr. Marju Toomsalu

Biography

Marju Toomsalu holds a B.A. teaching certificate in English Language Literature from Tartu University, Estonia and an M.A. in Language Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She has pursued graduate studies and conducted research in the fields of sociology and language. Marju joined the English Department at Ryerson University in 2003 and has served as an EAL Programs Director since 2007. Her research interests include language teaching and learning, language testing, and language policy. In addition to her academic pursuits, Marju enjoys traveling, reading novels, and exploring different cultures and ways of thinking. She also has a passion for the great outdoors and winter activities.
