Dr. Mary Murphy

Biography

Mary Ann Murphy’s interest in language acquisition began during her undergraduate studies in Chambery, France. This experience motivated her to pursue a Master’s degree in TESL/Applied Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has spent years teaching oral skills and writing, and she currently teaches dissertation writing as well as intermediate and advanced oral skills at the University of Southern California. Mary Ann also consults for the RAND Corporation on various aspects of English, with an emphasis on writing and publication. Her areas of interest include technology in teaching, materials development, and teacher training.
