Biography

Mercy Oyet joined the Faculty of Business as an Assistant Professor of organizational behavior and human resource management in 2018. She has extensive industry experience in human resource management, having worked for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada as a regional human resources advisor prior to joining UNB Saint John. Oyet received her Doctor of Philosophy in management from Memorial University of Newfoundland, her Master of Business Administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Imo State University, Nigeria. She teaches courses in human resource management and business. Oyet’s research interests primarily focus on workplace interpersonal mistreatment from the target, perpetrator, and bystander perspectives, as well as employee health and wellbeing in the workplace, and the individual and organizational factors that influence these outcomes.
