Biography

Min-Min Liang is a Lecturer in Chinese at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Global Languages department. She has been teaching at MIT since 2000 and regularly conducts Chinese II and III courses, including Regular and Streamlined tracks. Prior to her tenure at MIT, she has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, Simmons College, and Brookline High School. Liang has held the position of Chair of the ACTFL Special Interest Group for Heritage Languages and received the Classroom Innovation Award from the MAFLT for LCTL in 2023. She has co-authored the book 'Modern Chinese Heritage Beginners' in 2023 and 'Modern Readers Performance-Based Tasks' in 2015. Liang has developed various websites dedicated to the study and appreciation of Chinese-language literature, including resources for teaching Chinese writing and contemporary Chinese writers. She has also created puzzles and reading materials that encourage interaction with Chinese characters and their associated vocabularies, and she frequently presents her work on pedagogical topics in academic communities. In addition to her focus on Chinese literature translation, her pedagogical interests include technology in language teaching, education theory, and the self-publishing of educational tools.
