Biography

Nikki Mattson is a Teaching Professor in Applied Linguistics and serves as the Coordinator for Strategic Initiatives in the Intensive English Communications Program (IECP) at Penn State University. She has been a member of the IECP since 2009 and is dedicated to supporting campus internationalization efforts and global engagement. Nikki is a co-founder and advisor of the PSU Living-Learning Community, known as the Global Engagement Community. Additionally, she serves as the Global Learning Coordinator (GLC) for PSU's Experiential Digital Global Engagement (EDGE) Program. Her research interests include the validation of oral placement tests in intensive English programs, evaluating the use of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) in language (L2) classrooms, and the internationalization of higher education.
