Dr. Noah Heller

Biography

Noah Heller is a lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education, focusing on teacher education and leadership development. He emphasizes practice-based approaches in teacher education and mathematics pedagogy, with additional research interests in identity and belonging within math classrooms. Heller has extensive experience working to support underrepresented young people in accessing mathematics and math-related fields. He currently serves as the faculty chair for the Professional Education's Certificate in Instructional Leadership, an online program designed for developing teacher leaders. His previous roles include heading the Master Teacher Program at Math for America in New York City and directing the development and expansion of professional development for STEM master teachers. Heller has also taught at Pratt Institute and Hunter College, and he was a founding math teacher at the New York Harbor School, a public Career Technical Education high school. Throughout his career, he has actively collaborated with teachers, families, and college admissions offices to promote college access for a generation of college-going students. His courses cover math methods, teacher research, and the foundations of teaching and learning with a focus on equity and opportunity.
