Dr. Omid Noroozi

Biography

Omid Noroozi is an Associate Professor in the Education Learning Sciences Chair Group at Wageningen University, Netherlands. His work focuses on technology-enhanced learning, with a significant interest in how to integrate technology into educational contexts to foster collaboration and the development of 21st century skills. He is particularly passionate about designing, implementing, and evaluating advanced technology-enhanced learning (TEL) environments that aim to facilitate students’ acquisition of critical skills necessary to navigate complex and controversial challenges in modern society. His research specifically emphasizes the development of argumentation competence, which is essential in higher education environments. Over the past years, he has broadened his research scope to include collaborative learning skills, entrepreneurial skills, self-regulation skills, and complex problem-solving skills. His work helps educators understand how to structure learning experiences that leverage TEL environments effectively, including digital learning environments, MOOCs, and serious games. Noroozi's expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including educational strategy, educational quality, and computer-assisted instruction. He is dedicated to advancing the field of educational innovation and research, particularly in terms of argumentation-based learning and scaffolding second-order argumentation strategies.
