Biography

Patricia Scarampi is a Professor of Instruction in the Department of French and Italian at Northwestern University. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Her academic background includes a Licence in Spanish Philology from Université de Nice, France, a Licenciatura in French Philology from Universidad de Barcelona, Spain, and a Master's in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad de Alicante, Spain. Scarampi has published multiple articles focusing on Foreign Language Pedagogy and Translation, and she co-authored a Spanish textbook titled 'que sí,' published by De Agostini Scuola. Her research interests lie primarily in Foreign Language Pedagogy, Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, Phonetics, and Sociolinguistics. Currently, she teaches a range of language and culture courses, including a French Phonetics course and a Foreign Language Teaching course, where she is responsible for pedagogical training and supervision of Teaching Assistants. Additionally, she is a member of the Council on Language Instruction (CLI).
