Rami Nair spent his childhood in India and Poland, and he is fluent in four languages. He earned a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Warsaw in Poland and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Northwestern University. Since 1998, he has been responsible for initiating the Hindi language program at Northwestern, which has evolved from the now non-existent Program in African Asian Languages. Nair teaches three levels of Hindi-Urdu classes and also coordinates the Hindi-Urdu Language Program.
