Biography

Dr. Reuben Asempapa received his Bachelor of Education in Mathematics Education from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Youngstown State University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum Instruction specializing in Mathematics Education from Ohio University. His teaching experience spans elementary to collegiate levels, including middle and high school mathematics. Dr. Asempapa is instrumental in teaching methods and content courses in mathematics for pre-service teachers, as well as statistics and quantitative methods for educational research students at the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education. He actively presents at local, state, regional, national, and international conferences. His research agenda focuses on mathematical modeling in education, emphasizing the development of pre-service and practicing teachers' content knowledge and professional development, as well as the use of problem-solving strategies to promote student interest in mathematics through high cognitive demand tasks.
