Ricardo was born and raised in Argentina and has lived and worked in Australia before settling in Victoria in 2017. His primary research interest is in further understanding how organizations respond to proactively shape institutional environments. His research typically focuses on the organizational level and uses institutional theory as the primary lens. Ricardo believes that organizations are a critical part of the world and are powerful tools that allow individuals to coordinate action and combine resources towards shared purposes, transforming communities and societies. Understanding how organizations behave and the consequences of their actions is essential for human beings and future societies. He teaches courses in strategic management, international business, ethics, leadership, and intercultural competence, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As a committed member of civil society on Vancouver Island and the broader province, he volunteers and contributes to multiple institutions linked to social development and poverty reduction, particularly in support of immigrants. Additionally, he regularly consults and provides training in leadership, intercultural competence, and DEI for local, national, and international corporations, foundations, charities, and government agencies.
