Biography

Roberto B Sileo is an Affiliated Lecturer in Theoretical Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge, where he is also a Fellow and Director of Studies in Linguistics at Homerton College. He completed his PhD and MPhil in Theoretical Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge. In addition, he has degrees in English Language Teaching from Asociación Argentina de Cultura Inglesa and law degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of Buenos Aires. His research interests encompass various fields including Pragmatics, Semantics, and language processing with a focus on Bilingualism and English language teaching and assessment. Roberto has been involved in postdoctoral research projects that examine challenges related to Metapragmatics, especially in connection to bilingual children's language acquisition and core syntax. Through his teaching and research, he emphasizes the application of modern linguistic theories to practical language teaching and assessment scenarios.
