Rosa Archer graduated in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Rome and completed a PhD in Pure Mathematics specializing in Algebraic Topology at the University of Warwick in 1995. In 2012, Archer was awarded an early research grant by the University of Manchester to investigate the development of Lesson Study as part of the PGCE course. She is passionate about mathematics teaching and her research aims to improve the learning experience for both young people and teachers. Her interests include mathematics education, lesson study, and subject knowledge enhancement for teachers, with a focus on using lesson study for professional development for experienced teachers alongside student teachers. Archer is involved in an international project that collaborates with South Africa and is interested in school-university collaboration for teacher development, particularly using lesson study as a vehicle.
