Dr. Sandie Wong

Biography

Sandie Wong is a Professor in Early Childhood at Macquarie University and is the Co-Deputy Director of the Centre for Research in Early Childhood. She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Early Childhood from Macquarie University (2006) and a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education with First Class Honours (2000). Sandie’s research focuses on improving early childhood education and addressing issues of disadvantage and marginalization. She has led various research projects funded by the Australian Research Council, which include studies on educator well-being and effective practices in early childhood education. Her work has contributed significantly to the field, with over 80 scholarly publications to her name including 64 journal articles, 3 books, and multiple research reports. Furthermore, Sandie has been actively involved in professional service, including positions such as Vice-President of OMEP Asia Pacific Region and Editorial Committee Member for the Australasian Journal of Early Childhood. She consistently contributes to the academic community by supervising PhD students and examining theses. Sandie's commitment to high-quality research and practice has made her a prominent figure in early childhood education both nationally and internationally.
