Biography

Scott joined the Department of Management as a Senior Lecturer in September 2015, previously a Lecturer in Work and Employment Studies at the University of Stirling since 2009. Prior to that, he worked as a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Aston University from 2008-2009 and was a researcher at the Scottish Centre for Employment Research, University of Strathclyde from 2006-2008. He was awarded a PhD in Human Resource Management at the University of Strathclyde in 2009, funded by the ESRC partnership with Scottish Enterprise. His PhD investigated patterns and determinants of 'soft' skills deficits in Scotland and how employers have responded. Scott has conducted research funded by and presented to various entities including the EU, Scottish Government, and Equal Opportunities Commission (Scotland). He is an active member of the Scottish Graduate School of Social Sciences, specifically within the Business Management pathway, and has organized the Doctoral Symposium for this pathway. Scott's research interests include Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour.
