Dr. Sebastián Díaz

Biography

Sebastián Díaz is a Senior Lector in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Yale University. He received his Doctorate in Education from Universidad Simón Rodríguez in Venezuela in 1987. Additionally, he holds two Master's degrees from the University of Jaen in Spain, focusing on Applied Linguistics in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language and Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. Throughout his career, Dr. Díaz has taught elementary, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language classes, along with postgraduate doctoral programs throughout Latin America. His doctoral thesis was on the subject of Accreditation of Experiential Learning, highlighting his interest in practical applications within educational contexts. He emphasizes the importance of methodological strategies in learning and language teaching pedagogy.
