Biography

Sherice Clarke is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education Studies. As a learning scientist, she employs micro-genetic discourse methodologies to investigate aspects of learning and schooling. Her current research focuses on teacher learning, research practice partnerships, and design-based research, particularly within community contexts. Prior to joining the faculty at UC San Diego, Clarke was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh’s Learning Research Development Center. She received her PhD in Education from the University of Edinburgh’s Moray House School of Education. In 2022, she was awarded the National Science Foundation’s CAREER Award, recognized as a prestigious honor aimed at supporting early career faculty. Her educational background also includes a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the City University of New York, Hunter College.
