Dr. Sim Sitkin

Biography

Sim B. Sitkin is the Michael W. Krzyzewski University Distinguished Professor at Duke University. He specializes in Leadership, Organizational Control, and Public Policy, and serves as Faculty Director of the Fuqua/Coach K Center for Leadership & Ethics, and Director of the Behavioral Science Policy Center. His extensive academic background includes serving as Area Head for Management Organizations and being a founding partner and president of Delta Leadership, Inc. In addition, he has taken on various administrative leadership roles at Duke and has taught at institutions such as the University of Texas at Austin and the Free University of Amsterdam. An elected fellow of several prestigious organizations, Sitkin’s research explores how leadership and control systems influence member behavior, foster change, and drive innovation within organizations. His work has been published in notable journals like Organization Science and Harvard Business Review. He has also authored several influential books including 'Organizational Control' and 'The Routledge Companion to Trust'. Sitkin has served on numerous boards and advisory committees and has worked with both large and small organizations across the globe as a consultant and executive educator.
