Biography

Simone Luti, a native of Lucca, Tuscany, is an acclaimed orchestral conductor and pianist. He earned his credentials studying piano under notable instructors such as Gloria Belli and Konstantin Bogino, with further formal studies in composition supervised by Pietro Rigacci. Luti's passion for opera led him to study at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa and the Milan Academy of Performing Arts associated with Teatro della Scala. In 2002, he began working as a coach for Teatro della Scala and other significant Italian theatres. His collaborations extend to renowned opera stars and organizations across Europe and North America, including directing and conducting performances for various prestigious music festivals and opera companies. Luti currently holds multiple positions at Western University, leading the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra as Music Director and serving as the Head Coach of the Opera Program. His contributions to Canadian opera include assisting in productions with the Canadian Opera Company and conducting various opera workshops, showcasing his dedication to advancing the operatic arts. Through his extensive experience and expertise, Luti continues to inspire the next generation of musicians and performers in the field of music and opera.
