Biography

Sofie Weber Pant is a Ph.D. fellow at the University of Southern Denmark. Her research focuses on the health and well-being of children and adolescents, with a particular emphasis on infants, school-aged children, and young adolescents, analyzing data from health visitors. She has authored reports in areas such as mental health, psychological disorders, well-being, parent-child relationships, motor skills, language, regulatory issues, breastfeeding, social inequality, sleep problems, sibling relationships, and ethnicity. Since 2023, her primary focus has been on the early detection of mental health issues among children aged 5 to 7 years as part of her Ph.D. project. This research aims to validate the methods used by health visitors in school entry examinations to identify children experiencing well-being issues. Nearly 100% of all children and their families participate in these examinations, making health visitation a key opportunity for early detection. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that health visitors utilize a well-documented and validated method, as there have been no studies conducted in this area so far. The overarching goal of her current research is to guarantee that the methods employed by health visitors in school entry examinations for detecting children with mental health problems are of the highest quality. This knowledge can be applied nationwide to ensure the quality of school entry examinations.
