Biography

Stephen Schappe received his Ph.D. in Labor and Human Resources from Ohio State University and holds a master's degree in the area. His academic and professional expertise includes human resource management, organizational behavior, and labor-management relations. His scholarly work has been published in journals such as Group & Organization Management, Journal of Business Psychology, Journal of Psychology, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. He has been recognized for his scholastic achievement, having been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for AACSB International-accredited schools of business. Schappe has consulted organizations to identify strategic human resource needs, improve organizational communication, develop performance management systems, and enhance employee morale and motivation, while assessing the impact of corporate downsizing efforts. With years of experience as a Senior Consultant at Human Resource Partners, he has also worked with General Motors Corporation and Bernie Hoffman Associates, a health care management consultant. Schappe has presented lectures and conducted workshops on globalization in higher education, workplace diversity, organizational justice, transformational leadership, and corporate citizenship behavior. He has served on the Boards of Directors for various organizations including the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation and the Mid-Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration.
