Professor Dr. Stephen Zubrick

Biography

Steve Zubrick is an Emeritus Professor and Senior Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia (UWA). His extensive career in health and medical science includes leadership roles, such as Head of the Division of Population Science at the Telethon Kids Institute, where he focused on child development and health. With qualifications in clinical psychology and neuropsychology, he has a strong background in assessing and managing children with complex developmental disorders. His research emphasizes the execution of both large-scale and longitudinal studies concerning child and family development. Notably, Zubrick chaired the Consortium Advisory Group for the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children from 2001 to 2018 and is currently a member of the Steering Committee for the Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children. His contributions to the field have earned him fellowship in both the Academy of Social Sciences Australia and the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Zubrick is also recognized for his involvement in numerous research projects that address child mental health and well-being, highlighting the importance of social and emotional development from early childhood through young adulthood.
